Subject: PGA Montebello Action Meeting, Wed. July 18th, 7:00pm BUSH AND HARPER ANYWHERE! RESISTANCE EVERYWHERE! PGA Bloc Ottawa Action Planning Meeting to Prepare for Bush's Visit We invite all Ottawa anti-capitalists, anti-imperialists, and anti-authoritarians to participate in action planning for the arrival of George Bush, Stephen Harper, and Felipe Calderon in Montebello, Quebec, on August 20-21, 2007. ============================= 7:00PM WEDNESDAY, JULY 18TH ROOM 125 SIMARD HALL UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA OTTAWA, ONTARIO ============================= This August 20th and 21st, Stephen Harper will welcome George Bush and Felipe Calderon to the Chateau Montebello, at a resort town between Ottawa and Montreal, to continue to implement the "Security and Prosperity Partnership." In coordination with allies from across the Northeast, we are working to organize effective direct confrontations of the Montebello Security and Prosperity Summit and the individuals and institutions that support it. We invite all local anti-capitalists, anti-imperialists and anti-authoritarians to come together to plan actions that will disrupt and, if possible, shut down the Summit. The PGA Bloc Ottawa endorses, and takes as a guide to our organizing, the Hallmarks of the People's Global Action. These Hallmarks are: 1. A very clear rejection of capitalism, imperialism and feudalism; all trade agreements, institutions and governments that promote destructive globalisation. 2. We reject all forms and systems of domination and discrimination including, but not limited to, patriarchy, racism and religious fundamentalism of all creeds. We embrace the full dignity of all human beings. 3. A confrontational attitude, since we do not think that lobbying can have a major impact in such biased and undemocratic organisations, in which transnational capital is the only real policy-maker; 4. A call to direct action and civil disobedience, support for social movements' struggles, advocating forms of resistance which maximize respect for life and oppressed peoples' rights, as well as the construction of local alternatives to global capitalism. 5. An organisational philosophy based on decentralisation and autonomy. FOR MORE INFORMATION, CONTACT: In Ottawa pgabloc@gmail.com pga.roadnetwork.org 613 520 2757
