STRAIGHT FROM BAGHDAD: Eye-witness to bombings

Montrealer Zehira Houfani has just returned to Montreal from Baghdad. Houfani entered Iraq on 13 March, just days before the US-UK assault began. She will speak to what she saw in Baghdad, where she visited bombing sites, interviewed bombing victims in hospitals and visited homes during the intense bombardment.

Houfani went to Iraq as a member of the Iraq Peace Team, a project of Chicago-based Voices in the Wilderness. The goals of Iraq Peace Team are to show solidarity with the people of Iraq by maintaining a constant presence of internationals throughout the assault, and to witness the impact of the war on people there.
